Arthur Gordon Smith, 1901–?
Batik Mural, Medieval Scene, 45.5 inches long by 44.5 inches high, on cotton. Circa 1930.

This one is a bit crazy. His brother Lawrence R. Smith may have aided Smith. Arthur was Canadian, his work is in the Cooper Hewitt Collection and The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. His work, “The History of Radio”, is shown in The World of Art Deco, by Bevis Hillier. An Exhibition organized by The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, July- September 1971, page 192, illustration 1192.
Arthur also painted 14-foot religious murals on the interior walls of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Springfield, Massachusetts.
